Boat Trip
Experience breath-taking scenery from a traditional long boat as you slowly travel upstream on the Nam Ou river.
Surrounded by some of the most graceful limestone mountains in North Laos, you'll pass by villagers going about their daily lives. Explore the small village of Muang Ngoi and visit a cave used during the Secret War.
We’ll board one of our boats for a scenic ride upriver to the Tad Sae waterfall where we’ll have lunch and enjoy the beautiful area with time to swim and explore.
We’ll return by boat to our bikes and cycle through beautiful scenery on our return ride by paved road to Luang Prabang city.
Total biking is 46 km (29 mi) on mixed dirt and paved road with some hills.

We’ll start with a traditional boat, complete with a roof to shade against the sun and any rain, riding upstream on the Nam Ou for 40 minutes. Surrounded by mountains and passing villages nestled in the forests, you will see Buffalo bathing in the river, people fishing and often children swimming in the river.
