Half day kayaking on the Nam Khan River explorer – HDK – GL1022
KAYAKING THE NAM KHAN RIVER
You'll ride about 25 minutes to the Tiger Trail Adventure Camp on the banks of the Nam Khan River where we'll review kayaking basics and safety before heading down the river. Nam Khan River conditions vary widely. On the way, you stop at the Burmese-style temple Wat Phao Pao, an authentic weaving center at Ban Phanom village, and visit the final resting place of the French explorer Henry Mahout hidden in the jungle a short way for the road.
During the high water season the river is swollen, flowing well, and winds through stunning lush jungle, rice paddies, local villages, and elephant shelters (where you might catch a glimpse of them splashing on the river banks).
This 20 km (12 mi) easy-medium run usually takes 3-4 hours with breaks. We have the option to make the route shorter to approx. 9km and 2 hours. Please ask our staff.
