Your English-speaking guide will escort you in an air-condition minivan for a silk dying course at Ock Pop Tok, a social enterprise organization that specializes in the field of textiles, handy crafts and design.
Set in lush tropical gardens and located on the banks of the Mekong is the perfect place to learn more about the fascinating world of Lao textiles and handicrafts.
Bringing alive the concept of east meets west, guided tour where you can marvel at the skills of our silk weavers and craft artisans and even meet our silkworm. Stroll around the gardens where they grow the plants for our natural dyes and seeing vivid hand-dyed silk drying in the sun.
With an opportunity to try your hand at weaving and spinning on the demonstration looms whilst meeting the weaver.
You will also sample local lunch prepared by the local Laos ethnic people
After lunch you will be taken to a rice field to learn the how the local people harvest and farm rice, see the process of planting and harvesting rice in the rice paddy.
Spend time at the Living Rice Farm, situated in an idyllic countryside setting, surrounded by mountains in the middle of ancient rice terraces.
The Living Rice Farm is a community enterprise growing organic vegetables and rice. Working with and supporting the local community plus helping to educate children from disadvantaged families.
Then on to the famous Kuang Sii falls where you have the chance to enjoy and swim at the blue lagoon
The Kuang Sii Falls, sometimes spelled Kuang Xi or known as Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, is a three-tier waterfall about 29 kilometres (18 mi) south of Luang Prabang.
These waterfalls are a favorite side trip for tourists in Luang Prabang. The falls begin in shallow pools atop a steep hillside. These lead to the main fall with a 60 metres (200 ft) cascade.
The falls are accessed via a trail, the water collects in numerous turquoise blue pools as it flows downstream.
The many cascades result is typical of travertine of waterfalls.
Swimming is permitted only in marked areas and modest swimsuits are most appropriate, with local people swimming fully clothed.
There are picnic spots, public toilets and changing rooms. Food stalls outside the park entrance sell baguettes, fruit shakes and skewers of grilled meat, ideal for a picnic, in addition there are a handful of small restaurants and souvenir shops.
When returning from the waterfalls you will stop off at Ban Na Aun (Hmong handy craft Village”, You will be dropped back at your hotel approximately late evening.
