DAY 01

LUANG PRABANG – LONG LAO MAI FAIR TREK (L, D)

We’ll bring you from Luang Prabang to Tad Thong approx. 15 minutes. Tad Thong is a off-the-beaten-path, deep in the jungle and there are no crowds, you will likely be the only tourists so you can enjoy a refreshing swim in peace and take in the beautiful surroundings.

We start a jungle trek from Tad Thong to Xieng Mouk, approx. 1.5 hours. We will pick you up from Xieng Mouk and drive you in our A/C minivan to Long Long Mai.

When you arrive, your guide will give you a tour of the village. Introduce yourself to the local people, learn a few words of the Hmong language or get a pickup game of football going with the village children. Later, feel free to unwind in the village making new friends. Dinner is served and prepared by the villagers.

You will stay overnight and experience village living with local villagers in their house (homestay).

DAY 02

LONG LAO MAI – KUANGSI WATERFALL - LUANG PRABANG (B, L)

Start off the day with breakfast prepared by villagers. Your guide will tell you more about Hmong culture.

You’ll have all morning to immerse in Hmong culture. Explore the life and culture of this village where Khamu and Hmong people live. Also see the work of our Fair Trek project, a beautiful clay-built bungalow used for overnight tours to experience local village life and culture.

Trek to the stunning Kuangsi Waterfall. 9 km (5.5 mi), The trek is approx. 3.5 hours of medium difficulty, slippery when wet.

The trek is mainly flat. There is a rocky section up and down a small hill approx. 20 minutes.

In the afternoon you will arrive at the crystal-clear Kuang Si Waterfall where we will have plenty of time to relax and swim.

While in the Kuang Si Waterfall Park, you should visit the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary. You can find great information about Asian sun and moon bears and the Free the Bears Protection program. You are welcome to support the project with a donation or by buying a real "Free The Bears" T-Shirt.

We’ll return late afternoon by vehicle. The tour concludes late afternoon in Luang Prabang.

Homestays act as supplemental income for the villagers – 100% of your accommodation, cooking and village fee is circulated back to the community
